PAMIRA FRAME & FORKS

The frame and forks are hand built in the UK by one of the country’s top frame builders - Lee Cooper. The frame is fillet brazed using a combination of heat treated Reynolds 725 tubing for the main triangle and 631 for the chainstays, and 725 for the seatstays. The tubes are oversize with a 31.8mm top and seat tube, 34.9 down tube, and 44mm internal diameter head tube.

The fork crown we now use on the Pamira is the Pacenti bi-plane style (the same as the Kibo) and the fork blades are Reynolds 853 specifically designed for disc brakes.

The frames are fillet brazed which means the the tubes are joined without using lugs or welding.  We use a brass brazing rod to create a small mound around the joint called the “fillet.” The fillet on the Pamira is left unfiled. Please note we don't tig weld as tests have shown joins to be weaker using this process, we braze only with either lugs or by fillet brazing.

The tube diameters and wall thicknesses ensure the frame is tough enough for loaded touring on rough roads.

The rear sliding dropouts are from Paragon Machine Works and we offer a choice of inserts - either with a derailleur hanger and ISO disc mounts and compatible with 10mm x 135 mm quick release hubs or for a Rohloff Speedhub, with ISO disc mounts and again with 135mm O.L.D.

The front dropouts are for 9mm x 100 mm O.L.D. quick release hubs.

The tyre clearances on the Pamira are the most generous out of all of our bikes, up to 27.5" x 2.35" and 700c x 2.1".

There are a number of rack and bottle cage bosses - bosses for a rear pannier rack and braze-ons for front rack and carry-anything cages. There are four bottle cage mounts. There also mounts/eyelets for mudguards.

The frame is finished with a double powder coat in our new Sand colour although you can choose from any of our stock colours or pay a bit extra for a custom colour.

All of our frames are made to order so we customise the geometry to best fit you, so either come and visit us in Hove for a fitting or if you email I will ask for a few measurements so I can start tailoring the geometry to best fit you.

N.B. The Pamira is only available to purchase as a complete bike
