  • The Stanforth Conway frame and forks are hand built in the UK by the country’s top frame builders. The frame is fillet brazed using Reynolds 853 tubing. The fork blades are also 853 specifically designed for disc brakes.

The frames are fillet brazed which means the the tubes are joined without using lugs or welding.  We use a brass brazing rod to create a small mound around the joint called the “fillet.” This is then finished to create a smooth joint between the tubes.

The tube diameters and thicknesses ensure a smooth ride as well as high strength and durability. We can make tweaks to the frame to suit you at no extra cost, for example change the top tube length or increase the head tube stack so you have less spacers.

As with all of our bikes, the Stanforth Conway has a heat treated steerer for extra strength. The steerer is 1 1/8" threadless for an ahead stem.

It has bosses for two bottle cages, mudguards and front and rear racks. The rear dropouts with integrated disc mount is machined and manufactured by Paragon Machine Works. Rear spacing is 135mm. Clearance is for 700 x 35c with guards or 47 without guards (or 650b x 2.0").

The Stanforth Conway headbadge is hand crafted from pewter in the UK.

It is finished in a choice of Bahama Gold or Ash Green. The frames are double powder coated for increased durability and longevity.

The cost excludes the headset. Tange Seiki J27 Technoglide and Chris King NoThreadset can be fitted and are in the option field.

The bottom bracket shell is 68mm wide with a British (BS) thread.

All of our frames are finished to a high standard. This includes facing the top and bottom surfaces of the headtube, reaming the head and seat tubes as well as facing the bottom bracket shell.

N.B. Minimum Q factor of chainset is 146mm (i.e. compatible with Shimano road transmisison). If looking to use narrower please get in touch to discuss the Q factor of the chainset you plan to use as we should be able to build accordingly
