The Skyelander Rohloff Disc is fitted with TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes. The Spyre is a dual sided mechanical disc brake caliper where both pads operate to give an even and precise clamping force. This means that the pad and rotor wear is even.

TRP have added a simple cable barrel adjuster so the pads can be easily adjusted without tools, or the pads can be independently adjusted with an allen key.

The Shimano 160mm rotor has the Centre-Lock mounting system, and at the rear we use Rohloff specific 160mm rotors made by Hope.

The rotors are precision cut stainless steel. The braking surface has been developed for good pad clearing and cooling improving performance and the rotor longevity.

The discs are operated by TRP drilled hole levers (black or silver), or if you’re opting for flat bars then they will be Shimano short pull levers.

We also use compressionless cable housing for better braking performance.
