Bar upgrades for your Kibo

£42.00Price

If you'd like to upgrade from our standard double butted riser bar we have a few good choices here:

The Jones H bar SG, Nitto butterfly style bar, Nitto heat treated riser bar, the Velo Orange Crazy Bars as well as the Denham bar. Others available upon request

  • Some further information on the bar upgrade options for your Kibo:

Jones H bar SG (available in black or silver)

All Jones H-Bars use a 31.8mm stem clamp diameter, 22.2mm clamp size for controls (standard mountain bike style).  The entire front loop has a 22.2mm diameter.

The Loop H-Bar has the same hand, stem and brake lever position as the original H-Bar but the cross bar sweeps forward to allow the levers to go behind the cross bar instead of in front. This gives longer uninterrupted hand positions and will allow trigger and grip/twist shifters to fit on the rearward extensions (unlike the original H-Bar and the Cut H-Bar). The continuous front loop of the bar enhances stiffness and is good for additional aero hand positions and mounting lights, GPS devices etc. This bar provides comfort and power with an impressive weight. With the levers in the optimum position the rider is superbly placed for fast riding while still enjoying all the hand positions available. The rearward extensions allow extra leverage and a wider hand position - be it for comfort or power. It is available in 660mm and 710mm widths (subject to availability). Ergon biokork or black GC1 grips can be fitted but the ESI grip is very comfortable on this bar.

Nitto B825AA Touring Handlebar (Butterfly style)

Like the Jones bar, this Nitto bar gives a number of hand positions which is great for touring. It is designed specifically for comfort.

This is finished in silver only but we have a black butterfly bar as an alternative (by BBB), is alloy and has a 25.4mm stem clamp. Width is 540mm so a little narrower than our standard riser bar (620mm). Like all Nitto products it is high quality and made in Japan.

    Nitto B809AA riser bar

We've included these as an option for their extra strength. These are heat treated riser handlebars by Nitto and due to their toughness are used for mountain biking and cross riding. They have a 25.4mm clamp and a grip area of 22.2mm. Polished finish. 40mm rise. 635mm wide. 283g.

    Velo Orange Crazy Bars

These bars are intended for touring on paved and unpaved roads. The main section of the bar is pretty wide at 67cm. This provides good control on rough surfaces and around town. The bullhorn section offers a streamlined position for smoother roads and headwinds. The center portion replicates the top of a drop bar, and placing your hands at the junctions is similar to riding on the hoods.

The main bar is 22.2mm and the clamp area is 25.4mm.

Crazy Bars are made from 6061 aluminum and are heat treated. Weight is pretty reasonable at around 450g.

    Specs:

    Stem Clamp: 25.4mm
    Grip (sweeps): 22.2mm
    Grip (extensions): 23.8mm
    Sweep: 45 deg
    Weight: 450g
    Width: 666mm

    Denham bar

The Denham handlebar was developed for and by Alee Denham in collaboration with KOGA. Especially for world travellers and perfect for touring. The width gives you much control over your loaded bike, there are lots of hand positions for comfort and the inboard positions allow you to be way more aerodynamic in headwinds. Theyll fit bikepacking bags, handlebar bags or rando/basket bags

    Specs:
    34 sweep at the grips
15 inward bend at the bullhorns
8 sweep at the bar tops
    711mm width
    31.8mm stem diameter
    Barend shifter compatible
    400-450 grams

N.B. all these bars are only available to purchase as an upgrade when buying a Kibo bike and not available for general purchase
