The current lead time from ordering your custom Stanforth to your bike being ready is 16-18 weeks.
The Skyelander Disc is a custom made touring bike with the frame and forks hand built in England.
The lugged frame is built using air hardened Reynolds 631 for the main frame. The stays are Reynolds 631 & 725. The fork blades are disc specific Reynolds 631. We use lugs to give the frame optimal strength.
An upgrade to Reynolds 853 main frame + 853 fork blades is an option.
It's designed with clearance for 40mm tyres with mudguards.
The frame's relatively long chainstays (450mm or 455mm for more heal clearance with panniers) and steel frame make this the ideal companion on a long distance loaded road trip, both strong and comfortable.
The Skyelander Disc comes equipped with Shimano XT 10 speed triple chainset (26/36/48T), XT derailleurs, XT disc hubs, Shimano short pull brake levers for flat bars and TRP RRL drilled hole brake levers for drops (or Sram S500), Microshift bar-end shifters 10 speed and Nitto heat treated drop bars finished with comfortable Brooks microfibre bar tape. Flat bars are also an option.
The bike is fitted with the excellent TRP Spyre mechnical disc brakes on IS mounts coupled with Shimano 160mm rotors and TRP RRL drilled hole levers - we use compressionless cable housing for better braking performance.
The wheels are handbuilt using Ryde Andra 321 disc 700c rims on Deore XT hubs, with Marathon Mondial Performance 40mm tyres and Schwalbe inner tubes. Other rim and tyres choices are available as upgrades.

The frames are lugged for optimal strength, but the frames can also be fillet brazed. We offer both an ahead and quill version.
It is finished in Dusk Blue (although other colours are available). The frames are double powder coated for increased durability and longevity.
Changing your order
As long as construction of the frame hasn’t begun, or bespoke components or frame parts haven’t been ordered we will do what we can to accommodate the changes as we want you to have the ideal bike for you. If it’s too late to make the changes the reasonable additional charges will apply to make the changes, either for labour, frame parts or bike components.
Cancelling your order
Once you have placed an order you have made a commitment to purchase the bike. We then order the bike components (e.g. frame tubes, lugs, brakes etc) on your behalf to build the bike to your requirements. If a customer cancels the purchase once the order has been paid for we will keep the monies to cover the costs incurred. No frame or parts will be supplied to the customer in the event of cancellation, we only provide complete bikes to customers.
Returns Policy
Due to the fact that 1) there is no standard Stanforth bike as every bike is likely to be different with so many options, and 2) because all of our frames are made to order, we do not offer refunds for unwanted bikes or frames.
All of our bikes are made to order to your specific requirements so unfortunately they are non – refundable.
Faulty/damaged bikes
If your bike is faulty/damaged please email simon@stanforthbikes.co.uk with the following information:
Your full name, date of purchase and the address the bike was delivered to
The frame number (as written on the warranty) and confirmation of which bike/frame is coming back to us
We will then discuss with you the best way of fixing the problem, ideally through replacement parts being fitted by a bike technician local to you. Please do not send back to us without discussing it with us first.
We are unable to give a refund in these circumstances but we will make sure the problem is fixed.
