The tried and tested Shimano Deore XT crankset provides the engine for the Kibo.

The Deore XT triple 22-32-44 chainset combined with the Deore 11-34 cassette provide a great gearing range for all terrain, and all hills with loaded panniers. The gear range is a massive 617%  with 17 (1st gear) to 104 gear inches (27th gear).

The front and rear Deore derailleurs deliver smooth and reliable shifting across the 27 gears. (N.B. photo shows XT no longer available)

The shifting is through Microshift thumb shifters, a friction shifter controls the front chainwheel and a 9 speed friction/index shifter controls the rear cassette.
