The Torro is the latest addition to our range.
The Torro is a gravel tourer. We’ve been asked many times for a gravel bike that you can go touring on, so here it is.
Gravel bikes vary significantly, from fast race gravel bikes which are essentially road bikes but with bigger tyre clearances and flared drops, through to aggressive adventure gravel bikes at the other end of the spectrum - i.e. mountain bikes with drops.
The Torro sits in the middle but with more of a focus on the ability to carry luggage, whether that be through a bikepacking or pannier rack set up, or a mixture of the two.
Your frame will be custom built in England, using Reynolds 853. It will be fillet brazed.
The combination of the wall thicknesses and diameters of the Reynolds 853 tubes we we have specc’d on the Torro, give it the strength for touring as well as the agility of a gravel bike.
The clearance can be designed for either 27.5” x 47mm or 700c x 43mm, so more clearance than our Conway and Skyelander models.
There is a choice of transmissions - either a Sram wireless 1x12 Rival AXS mullet (10-52T cassette), or a Shimano GRX RX820 1x12 (11-51T cassette) or GRX RX810 2x11 with a 40T cassette.
The carbon fork is a full carbon monocoque adventure fork with cargo mounts.
We have a range of stock colours and custom colours to choose from.
Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your Torro.
Changing your order
As long as construction of the frame hasn’t begun, or bespoke components or frame parts haven’t been ordered we will do what we can to accommodate the changes as we want you to have the ideal bike for you. If it’s too late to make the changes the reasonable additional charges will apply to make the changes, either for labour, frame parts or bike components.
Cancelling your order
Once you have placed an order you have made a commitment to purchase the bike. We then order the bike components (e.g. frame tubes, lugs, brakes etc) on your behalf to build the bike to your requirements. If a customer cancels the purchase once the order has been paid for we will keep the monies to cover the costs incurred. No frame or parts will be supplied to the customer in the event of cancellation, we only provide complete bikes to customers.
Returns Policy
Due to the fact that 1) there is no standard Stanforth bike as every bike is likely to be different with so many options, and 2) because all of our frames are made to order, we do not offer refunds for unwanted bikes or frames.
All of our bikes are made to order to your specific requirements so unfortunately they are non – refundable.
Faulty/damaged bikes
If your bike is faulty/damaged please email simon@stanforthbikes.co.uk with the following information:
- Your full name, date of purchase and the address the bike was delivered to
- The frame number (as written on the warranty) and confirmation of which bike/frame is coming back to us
We will then discuss with you the best way of fixing the problem, ideally through replacement parts being fitted by a bike technician local to you. Please do not send back to us without discussing it with us first.
We are unable to give a refund in these circumstances but we will make sure the problem is fixed.
