All of our wheels are hand built in Sussex.

For us there was only one choice when deciding upon the rim for the Torro and that’s the DT Swiss GR531. Firstly, its Strength Boost Welding Technology creates a perfectly welded join for a durable, reliable rim.

They are available in both 650b and 700c.

​

The 24mm width gives better support to wide,35mm+ tyres, allowing the use of lower pressures, enhancing grip and comfort whilst reducing rolling resistance and tyre flex under cornering

The 130kg weight limit means the rims can be used for bike packing or touring. For heavier touring we would recommend Ryde Andra rims.

The GR 531 can be used with inner tubes or set up as tubeless.

​

The standard tyre is the Panaracer Gravelking SK+ TLC folding, in tan or black - 650b x 1.9" or 700c x 43mm. If you're planning on having mudguards I'd recommend going slightly smaller than the 700c as clearance will be tight e.g. 700c x 38mm.

The rims are paired with the excellent Hope Pro 5 centre-lock thru-axle hub at the front. The Son 28 dynamo hub is an upgrade option. At the rear, it's the Rohloff hub
