KIBO ROHLOFF BRAKES
The Kibo comes with a choice of V brakes, cantilever brakes as well as a disc brake option.
Our recommended option is the Deore V brake for expedition touring with its excellent stopping power, easy maintenance and availability of replacement parts around the world.
Cantilevers tend to have higher mud/mudguard clearance versus their V brake counterparts minimising clogging in sludgy conditions, but V-brakes have the better stopping power.
Shimano V brakes have great stopping power and the Shimano Deore V brakes with the Cane Creek V drop levers together provide quick and positive response. The 107mm brake arms and the direct cable action design create a powerful leverage ratio.
However if you would prefer disc brakes then the mechanical TRP Spykes are excellent! For more info click here
