The Kibo is a British made expedition bike with the frame and forks hand built by one of England’s top framebuilders, Lee Cooper.
The lugged frame is built using the strongest gauge of the air hardened Reynolds 631 steel tubing on the main triangle,. The forks are also Reynolds 631. The chainstays are Reynolds 631 and the seatstays Reynolds 725.
The components include quality parts from Ergon, Shimano and Brooks. The transmission consists of Microshift thumbshifters, a Shimano T551 triple compact triple chainset, Deore touring specific front derailleur and XT touring rear derailleur.
We have a number of options to tailor the bike to your needs – V-brakes (recommended) or cantilever brakes, as well an upgrade option for disc brakes - click here for more info.
The wheels are hand built using Ryde Andra 30 expedition rims with Deore 36 hole hubs. The tyres are the Marathon Plus Tour 26 x 2.0" expedition ready.
The grips are the excellent Ergon biokork GP5 for great comfort.
The 1 1/8" ahead stem is our recommended for expedition touring, but if you prefer a more traditional quill stem then we can build your frame with the narrower headtube and a 1" threaded steerer.
